Faeries and goblins and imps... oh my

I haven't been on here a while. I sort of abandoned the internet because I was too shattered to be bothered. I started work on Special Effects for a film called Everest. About Everest the mountain believe it or not. It was full on, hard core work; carrying 25kg bags of assorted salts (for spin drift) up a replica of the peak of Everest that was built on the 007 stage at Pinewood studios. I think we used 20+ tons of fine table salt and epsom salts. It was fun blowing salt into Jake Gyllenhaal's beardy face. His face basically oozed mucus and liquid from every orifice. During the shoot I busted my shoulder… the one that carries the arm I use that has the hand on the end. Carrying equipment and salt did it for me. I am an artist and not very good at pretending to be a fork-lift truck. Hats off to the SFX technicians who's hard labour gets lost in the haze of Computer generated effects.

While recovering from my war wound I decided to go small and start on my faerie models. I've been procrastinating about a Faerie exhibition for thousands of years… so I've started to create it.

The first one has already made a DD and isn't finished yet. It depicts the king of snails - Ri na Seilidi. To come is The Mushroom man or 'Ceann Beacán'… a seemingly popular character apparently. Basically, things that have been cooking in my head since I was shown how to suck nectar from a clover flowerhead when I was a child… don't ask.
